Janeth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who supports clients at Max Pines Law in understanding what led to their involvement in the justice system and making meaningful changes in their lives. Using Motivational Interviewing, she helps clients explore their experiences, recognize patterns, clarify what matters to them, and identify steps toward the future they want.

Janeth also works with people who have experienced civil rights violations, helping them understand the legal process, tell their stories, and communicate the impact of their experiences in court settings. She supports clients and their families as they navigate the emotional demands of pursuing justice.

Her approach combines more than 15 years of clinical experience with an understanding of trauma, family relationships, and the circumstances that shape people’s choices. She works collaboratively with clients to build on their strengths, address barriers to change, and connect with treatment and community resources. She also supports families navigating the stress of legal proceedings.

Alongside this work, Janeth contributes to mitigation by helping the attorneys understand clients’ life histories and communicate their circumstances, strengths, and efforts toward change.

Janeth earned her master’s degree in social work from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2013 and completed two years of postgraduate training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy at the University of California, San Francisco. She spent 12 years providing therapy at the University of New Mexico and has testified as an expert witness.

She is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers and the founder of Desert Bloom Psychology & Consulting, where she provides psychotherapy, professional training, and consultation. Janeth works in both English and Spanish.
